A biographical sketch of Charles P. BOWLBY was published in 1905.
Building on early training as a carpenter, Charles began the manufacture of a reed organ, C. P. Bowlby Princess Organ, in 1876. In 1893, he added Princess Piano, and became recognized internationally. Extended credit and the general financial panic in the world in 1890, caused the collapse of his business and abondonment of his factory located in Washington, NJ. He then joined the Lawrence Organ Company, at Easton, PA., and was considered a successful business man of high integrity.

He was married to Mary C. SWEENEY. Charles P. BOWLBY and Mary C. SWEENEY had the following children:
