966. John K. BOWLBY ^{(5302) (5303)(760)} was born about 1821 in Brownsville, Fayette Co., PA. He died in 1890 in Oregon. ⁽⁵³⁰⁴⁾ He was also known as John H. BOWLSBY. ⁽⁵³⁰⁵⁾

John is assumed to be the son of Joseph I. and Lettice (BLAIR) BOWLSBY. His father's biographer states that Joseph I. BOWLSBY was on his way in 1875 " . . . to visit his oldest son, who was eight years older than Manuel and was an Advent preacher (This son died there in the early nineties)." Since the 1850 census places Manuel's birth around 1829, John was probably born around 1821. Mrs. Mattie Pennycuff in her memoirs of the BOWLBY family writes: "John, became a Seven Day Adventist preacher in Redlands, California".

He was married to Sophia STREETER on 19 Jun 1853 in Gratiot, Lafayette Co., WI.^{(5306) (5307)}
