to Elkton where Joseph worked as a carpenter at Landing Lane Boat Yard. About
1904, Joseph bought a 36 acre farm near Leeds, MD., where the family lived until
"Minnie's" death. Joseph's family was closely affiliated with the Methodist
Church at Leeds where some of his descendants are to this day members of the
congregation. He was married to Jamesanna POWELL on 22 Mar 1898 in Havre de
