Obituary: Roy Irving Bowlby of Hyannis, retired owner of C.R. Bowlby
and Sons Moving and Storing Co., died Friday at home ater a lengthy
illness. He was 67. Born in Cambridge, he resided in Somerville and
attended Somerville schools. He received a degree in business
administration from Burdett College. He resided in Bedford for 23
years before moving to Hyannis.

Mr. Bowlby was the youngest Somerville resident to enlist in the armed
forces during World War II. He served in the Coast Guard. He began
working for his father's moving business after college. Mr. Bowlby
was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hyannis. He is survived by
his wife, Peggy J. (Hall); one son, Eric of San Diego; two daughters,
Debbie Larsen and Diana Mahoney, both of Bedford; one brother, Robert
of Florida and New Hampshire; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at First Baptist
Church of Bedford. Interment will be in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.
