Obituary of Lisbon Charles Staggers -
Word was received her announcing the death of Charles Staggers, 68,
native of Greene County, who died Saturday, September 6 (1941), in a
hospital at Hill City, Kansas, as the result of injuries received
several days before when a farm tractor overturned on him.
Mr. Staggers, who had resided at Hill City for several years, was
born and reared in Whiteley Township, a son of the late Lisbon
Staggers and Sarah Hoge Staggers, He married Mary Blaker, also a
native of Greene County, and following her death several years ago he
married a second time. Besides his second wife, he leaves six
daughters and one son. One sister, Mrs. Alice Guthrie of near
Waynesburg, and one brother, Elva Staggers, of Lisbon, Ohio, also
survive. The late H. C. staggers of East High street was a brother.
His death came only two days after that of his half-sister, Mrs.
Catherine S. Bowlby, of Natrona, Kansas, who died Thursday, September
4, at the home of a daughter in Connecticut.
She resided in Natrona, Kansas.(12050)
