He was married to Rachel SWAYZE before 1786. ⁽¹⁴⁰⁹⁾ Reeves chart only mentions Rachel ___________. Rachel SWAYZE^{(1410) (3)(1406) (5)(6) (7)(8)} was born about 1765 in Knowlton Twp, Sussex Co., NJ. She died before 1816 in Woodhouse, Norfolk Co., Ontario, Canada. Barbara Rudy BARUDY@aol.com writes:

The Pioneer Sketches of the Long Point Settlement by E.A.Owen. On page
540 it mentions that these people were members of the pioneer
Methodist Society, James Matthews and wife, Philip Forse and wife,
Mrs. John Bowlby, Mrs. Joseph Lemon, Frederick Sovereign and wife,
Mrs. Charles Hanners, (I think this is a mistake) Daniel Hazen, and
wife, Daniel Freeman and wife, Philip Austin and wife, Jacob Buchner,
and George Salmon and wife. John BOWLBY III and Rachel SWAYZE had the following children:
