1826. Carrie Amelia LOOMER (8470) (5)(6) (7)(8) was born on 7 Jul 1867 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.(8471) She died on 24 Nov 1950 in Los Gatos, California. (8472) Roy Davis tells of a little French Doll that was bought in Paris by
the father of two boys who played with Carrie and her sister Estella
when they lived in Boston about 1870.

She was married to Charles William DAVIS on 28 Feb 1888.(8473) Charles William DAVIS(8474) (5)(6) (7)(8) was born on 28 Mar 1845 in Piqua, Ohio. (8475) He died on 2 May 1938 in Los Gatos, California. (8476) Charles crossed the plaines in a covered wagon at 15 year of age. His
Uncle, Charles Van Emon, bought the old Colt from a man in New York
before leaving. The story went that he wanted to get rid of it
because he had killed a man with it. Roy Davis has a copy of the
diary that his father kept on the trip. They left Piqua, Ohio on
April 11, 1860. He was a gold miner in the Grass Valley - Nevada City
region of California and a Stage Coach driver between San Francisco
and that area. He became a businessman in San Francisco and
eventually moved to Pt. Reyes Station in Marin County, California and
to Los Gatos, California in 1906.
He had a previous marriage and lived in Fresno, California where his
wife died in a flu epidemic and his only daughter was killed by a
runaway horse and buggy. Roy has her doll with a pink satin dress.
The child's name was Sadie and her nickname was Birdie.

"Papa Charley" writes Roy Davis, "moved to San Francisco where he
married Carrie who was 22 years younger than he and was the daughter
of his best friend." The Loomer home was on Army Street on a hill
that was leveled to make way for the Freeway from San Francisco down
the Pennensula. Carrie Amelia LOOMER and Charles William DAVIS had the following children:

is that of Elsie's doll. It is one that was given to Elsie one
Christmas in the early 1890s. Its clothes were made by her mother
Carrie and Aunt Estella.
