Abner "Bolba" -- the same misspelling was used for all the family -- was a 25 year old blacksmith from New Jersey living with the Alexander family in Richland Township, Rush County, Indiana during the 1850 census. A letter from Joseph Bonnell to Dennis Bowlby in 1890 states that Abner was then living at Litchfield, Montgomery County, Illinois.
