After marrage resided 76 Twp 5 yrs, moved to Davenport, back to Orono Twp. Retired from farming 1908 moved to Conesville where he was City Clerk for 14 years Buried Lot 6

The 1900 census of Orono Township, Muscatine County, Iowa indicates
that this couple had no children at this time. John S. Bowlby moved to Township 76, then to Davenport, then to Orono Twp where he retired from farming. In 1908, he moved to Conesville, where he was City Clerk for 14 years. They are buried in lot 6 Conesville Cemetery.
