County, Indiana, September 30, 1839; he was quite young when his
parents moved to Dark County, Ohio, where he lived until 1852, he then
with his parents came to Iowa and located at Oskaloosa, where they
remained until 1854, they then came to this county and located in
Winterset; he has lived on his present farm since 1856; owns 130
acres; he married Miss Catherine Hyskell June 28, 1860, a native of
Indiana County, Pennsylvania; they have five sons and four daughters:
Marietta E., Minnie C., Walter H., Clarence C., Orthello E., Frank O.,
Ada May, Bertha T. and baby; he was in the army, enlisted in August,
1862, in 39th Iowa infantry, in company A, was in the battles of
Parker's Cross Roads, Allatoona and numerous skirmishes."

He was married to Catherine Susanna HYSKELL on 28 Jun 1860 in Madison County, Iowa. ⁽⁷⁷⁵⁴⁾ Catherine Susanna HYSKELL ^{(7755)(581) (582)(7) (8)} was born on 4 Jul 1842 in Indiana County, Pennsylvannia. ⁽⁷⁷⁵⁶⁾ She died on 27 Jan 1894.⁽⁷⁷⁵⁷⁾
Her father was Jacob Hyskell, born 1810 Huntingdon County,
Pennsylvania d. 1886. She was the granddaughter of John Fredrick
Hyskell b. 1773.

Her mother was Mary Ann (Beyer) Hyskell, daughter of John and Esther
(Pontius) Beyer. Benjamin Franklin BOWLSBY and Catherine Susanna HYSKELL had the following children:
