We as yet do not know if this Elizabeth Barker is indeed connected to our Martha Barker.But have included her Will in the hopes that it might one day prove helpful,noting also that she names alot of familiar names.
Elizabeth Barker Will 8th day of March 1691
In the name of God amen,I Elizabeth Barker of Mansfield in the County of
Nottingham,Widow being aged and infirm and weak of body but of a sound and
perfect mind and memory thanks be to God, I herefore do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.First I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and discharged.Item I give and devise unto my nephew Samuel Haulton of Sheffield in the County of York,Shoemaker his heirs assignes for ever all that my messuage or dwelling house in Mansfield aforesaid now in my occupation? (or Croft?) thereunto adjoining now in the occupation? of John Lockwood or his own assignee.And all houses,outhouses,gardens and appertanences whatsoever to the same or any part thereof belonging or in any wise apperttainening And all my Estate Right with interest property power of Equitable Redemption? claims and demands of in and to the same. Item after all my just Debts and funeral
expenses paid and discharged and the neccessary expenses and charges of my Executors hereafter named defrayed? and discharged.I give and bequeath unto my said nephew Samuel Haulton his brother John Haulton and my niece Margarett the
wife of John Norborn and Elizabeth Haulton their sister,Anne Snoden,Frances
Snoden,XXXXXXXXXXX of Shirebrook Spinsters all and every my goods cattels
chattels debts rights and credits equally amongst them to be divided and I do hereby make and constitute and appoint my loving friends Mr. Jonathan Broadhurst and Mr Thomas Langford Executors of this my last Will and Testament and desire thatthey will see the same as far as in them lye justly performed According to the true intent and meaning of this my will.In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighth day of March in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred ninety and one.
