WILL of CHRISTOPHER REYNOLD 1667/12/Aug.
In the name of God amen I Christopher Reynold of Mansfield in the County of
Nottingham Baker being of good health and perfect memory blesed be to Mighty
God for the same, have constituted, appoynted and ordained this to be my
last Will and Testament, revoking and making voyd by these present all
former Wills whatsoever and this to be my last Will ; (in manner and forme
following) Imprimis : I give my now wife all my messuage all my Tennent in
Mansfield wherein I lately live during her naturall life (provided that that
if I happen to depart this life before alease I have let to Samuel Haulton
of the said Mesuage, tenement, and premises be expired, then my Will is the
said Sam Haulton, shall pay to my said wife Margaret foure Pounds ten
shillings by the yeare during the said tyme and terme of the said lease, and
noe more not withstanding any thing in the surrender of lease to the
contrary; Also after my wiffes death my Will is my said house and premises
before mentioned, shall be sold, and the mony to be disposed of as followeth
( that is to say) I give to my three Grandchildren the children of my late
sonn John Reynold ffifteene pounds apiece of lawfull mony of England, Also
I give the six children of Samuel and Martha Haulton foure pounds apiece of
lawfull mony of England also I give to Samuell Rawson and Mary Rawson sonn
and daughter of Edward and Hannah Rawson late of Sheffield, five pounds
apiece of lawfull mony of England Also I give to my daughter Elizabeth
Barker wife of William Barker tenn pounds of lawfull mony of England, I
desire Samuell Haulton and Joseph Need both of Mansfield with my surviving
ffoofees to sell the said house and premises after my Wife be dead to pay
the forementioned summes of mony to the severall persons afore named or to
there assigned, and if the said house and premises shall happen to be sould
for more mony than the summes before mentioned shall amount to then my Will
is the surplus mony it shall be sould for shall be equally divided amongst
the above named children and grandchildren; And if the said house and
premises shall not happen not to be sould for so much mony as I have in this
my Will given then my Will is every one of my children and grandchildren
shall take their portion;
Also I appoint and make Margaret my now wife my sole executrix of this my
last Will and Testament and give unto her all my goods and chattells of what
sort soever; also if my said Wife shall suffer the said house and premises
to goe out of repaire at any tyme during her naturall life, then my Will is
the said children and grandchildren which should have the above writen
summes paid them shall enter the said house and premises, not withstanding
the gift before mentioned to my Wife, In Witnes whereof I have set to my
hand and seale the twelve day of August in the yeare of our Lord 1667
Seale signed and declared this to be my last Will and Testament in the
presence of Joseph Need Samuell Haulton George Hanson
