Will of Samuel C. Bowlby
In the name of God Amen, I Samuel C. Bowlby of Franklin Township Fayette
County Pennsylvania being of sound mind and memory and considering the
uncertainty of this frail and transitory life and the certainty of death do
therefore make,ordain,publish and declare this to be my last will and
testament that is to say , first after all my lawful debts are paid and
discharged the residue of my estate real and personal I give and bequeath to
my beloved wife Elizabeth Bowlby to do with as she pleases. Likewise I make
constitute and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth Bowlby to be excutress of
this my last will and testament herby revoking all former wills by me made
in witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal
the first day of October in the year of Lord one thousand eight hundred and
fifty five.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Samuel C. Bowlby in
our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us and he at the same time
declared the above instrument to be his last will and testament and we at
the testators request and in his presence have signed our names as witnesses
hereto

the probate of wills & granting of letters of adminstration in and for
Said county came A J Whitsel & Mathew Arison who being duly affirmed do each
declare and Say that they were present and Saw the testator Sign Seal and
heard him pronounce this as for his last will and testament when of sound
mind memory and understanding and that they signed the within at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other that no undue influence was used
to cause him to make Said will nor later one by him made. In witness,where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal of the Registers Office in said County the day and year first above mentioned
