Obituary, Daily Chief May 8, 1911:
DEATH WEST OF CAREY.
Mrs. Slem Bowlby died Sunday morning, at 8:30 o'clock, at her home, six miles west of Carey. Death was due to paralysis with which she had been stricken three weeks ago. Mrs. Bowlby was born October 23, 1848, and was in her sixtythird year at the time of death. She was married twentynine years ago to Slem Bowlby, who survives her. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Charles Van Horn, three and one-half miles west of Vanlue, and one brother,
Charles Sullison, of Adrian, Mich.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, from the Methodist Episcopal church, in Vanlue, conducted by Rev. Snodgras. Interment in Van Horn cemetery.
Note: I thought this might be Mrs. Salamis Bowlby. Info from Jess' Samuel 8 descendants says he married Lucretia Southerland in 1883, which is about the same as the time married given above. I presume her maiden name would be the same as her brother, given as Sullison.
There are certainly similarities, but I'd say more info is needed to place her.
