Obituary, Wyandot Chief Oct. 19, 1905:
EMANUEL BOWLBY
Emanuel Bowlby, a pioneer resident of Antrim township, died at his home, two and one-half miles west of Nevada, Thursday morning, at 1:20 o'clock, from paralysis and infirmities due to old age. Mr. Bowlby was born in Somerset county, Penn., September 19, 1821, being aged 84 years and 1 month at the time of his death. He remained with his parents until he attained his majority, when he rented land and farmed in Wayne county, Ohio, for two years, and in Stark county seven years. He moved to Wyandot county in 1852, locating on his present farm, where he resided ever since. April 7,1842, Mr. Bowlby married to Sarah Stall, a native of Wayne county, who died a number of years ago. Nine children survive Mr. Bowlby. They are Mrs. Rachel Bechtel, residing north of Nevada; D.W.Bowlby, in Pitt township; Mrs.Hester Sigler, west of Nevada; Mrs. Lydia Dinkle in Nevada; Mrs. Alice Traxler, in Chicago, Ill.; Wellngton Bowlby, in Paulding county; Nelson
Bowlby, west of Nevada; and James Bowlby, living on the home farm.
The funeral will occur from the Lutheran church, in Nevada, Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, and will be conducted by Rev. G. W. W. Amick. Burial will be made in the Nevada cemetery.
