his correspondence with C. J. Bowlby, Esq. of Crete, Nebraska
interested him in family history to the extent that he sponsored a
Bowlby Reunion in Sharpsville in 1909.

He was married to Lula Belle HENDERSON on 28 Dec 1892 in Johnson County, IN.^{(7864) (7868)} Lula Belle HENDERSON^{(7869) (3655)(7) (8)} was born on 6 Oct 1867 in Johnson County, IN.^{(7864) (7870)} She died in 1951 in Vallejo, CA. ^(7864)(7871) Another source lists her death as 1952 in Sonoma County, California. She was buried in Sharpsville Cemetery, Tipton County, Indiana.⁽⁷⁸⁷²⁾
Since Lula Belle's mother, Lucy Willia, was the daughter of of John
Cornelius and Elizabeth Vanarsdal Thompson of Mercer County, Kentucky,
she was undoubtedly related to Cornelius D. Thompson who married
Rachel Ann Bowlby, William's sister. William Morton BOWLBY and Lula Belle HENDERSON had the following children:
