324. Nancy Amelia BOWLBY (1963) (5)(6) (7)(8) was born on 3 Jan 1818 in Dryden, Tompkins County, New York.(1964) She died on 18 Feb 1899 in Dryden, Tompkins County, New York. (1965) In CENTENNIAL HISTORY OF DRYDEN, "Pioneer Sketches," page 79, her
recollections are presented, "Her father was drafted in the War of
1812, and her mother to help raise money to hire a substitute to go in
his place sold her wedding dress, the most valuable article of
clothing she had. Mrs. Ferguson recollects the old log distillery ...
in Dryden village and says that at one time when her father emptied
out the barrel to be taken to the distillery to be refilled, he threw
out some cherries which had been kept in the liquor to give it flavor,
and that she and the other small children after eating some of the
fruit which was well preserved and very nice, felt a very peculiar
sensation from the effects of which for a time they could not see, and
they did not know what was the matter with thme. When she was about
twenty years of age her father and mother and the rest of the family
moved to Bath where her father died."

She was married to Henry H. FERGUSON. (1966)(1967) (1968) This couple had no issue.
