In 1790 Thomas and his father John signed an allegation and bond for a license
for the marriage of Thomas Boulby, bricklayer, to Susannah Durrans, widow of
Dewsbury, aged 23. Susannah had a daughter, Elizabeth by her first husband Richard
Durrans. Jeremiah Cunningham of Dewsbury, bookseller, also present.
Thomas and Susannah lived in Dewsbury for about 10 years. The family moved to
Westgate Common (circa 1800) about a mile from Wakefield. Possibly the daughter
Rachel had died but their other children Sarah and Joseph moved with their parents.
Thomas was by now a master builder employing his brother Joseph and building
houses for sale.
By the time daughter Sarah died in 1807, Thomas had almost completed a row of
ten houses on Westgate Common. These were sold by auction. An advertisement
was placed in the local newspaper The Wakefield Star and at 6 p.m. on Wednesday
the 17th of June, 1807 the property was sold by Mr. Senior, the auctioneer at
the Manor House, Wakefield.
He was married to Susannah CUNNINGHAM on 6 Jul

Susannah first married to Richard Durrans. They had only one child,
Elizabeth Durrans. It appears that Elizabeth married Susannah's
second husband's younger brother, George Boulby.
