janitor, and in the upholstery business. He was a member of the Sugar
Creek Christian Church.

He was married to Lora WEST on 10 Mar 1901.^(12505) Joe told the Olney Times, on the occasion of their fiftieth weddings
anniversay, that on the day of their wedding he had to pick up the
minister and go through roads knee deep in mud. They were married in
the home of the bride's family. Lora WEST^(12506)^(12502)⁽⁶⁾^(12507)⁽⁷⁾⁽⁸⁾ was born in 1882.^(12508) She died in 1963.^(12509) She was buried in Crest Haven Cemetery, Richland County, Illinois.^(12510) She was the daughter of Philip and Mary Alice (Slazor) West. She was
also the sister of Lewis West who married Joseph's younger sister,
Mary Alice. Joseph Ennis BOWLBY and Lora WEST had the following children:

+4983 iii. John Wesley BOWLBY^(12516) ^(12517)⁽⁶⁾⁽⁷⁾⁽⁸⁾ was born on 29 Mar 1906 in Olney, Richland Co., Illinois.^(12518) He died on 23 Jul 1977 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.^(12519) He was a resident of the Calumet-Hammond region of Chicago for more
than 50 years. John retired from the Universal Atlas Cement Division
of U.S. Steel Buffington Station. He was a member of a long list of
social clubs and organizations. He was appointed general chairman of
the hamond Bicentennial Committee by Mayor Joseph Klein in 1972. He
was an elder of the Covenant United Presbyterian Church.
