ELEVENTH GENERATION

1472. Samuel BOWLBY (7458) (7459)(6) (7)(8) was born in Mar 1841 in Clermont County, Ohio.(7460) He was the subject of the sketch of Duncan's History of Montgomery
County Kansas. When he came of age, he traveled to the pacific coast
where he worked five years in the mines of California and Idaho. He
then engaged in the stock business in Colorado and New Mexico. In
1880, he disposed of his mountain possessions and established himself
in Independence, Kansas, where he purchased property on Second Street,
and for twenty years or more engaged in handling city real estate as
well as owning several farms near the city.

He was married to Martha J. ARNETT in Las Vegas, Nevada.(7461) Martha J. ARNETT(7462) (7)(8) was born in Madison county, Arkansas.(7463) Martha was the daughter of William and Martha J. (Wood) Arnett, who
came to the far west in 1868. Samuel BOWLBY and Martha J. ARNETT had the following children:
