BOWLBY ^{(3493) (7)(8) (3494)} was born on 26 Jul 1814 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. ⁽³⁴⁹⁵⁾ He died on 25 Aug 1843 in Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan.⁽³⁴⁹⁶⁾ He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.⁽³⁴⁹⁷⁾ "His biographical sketch appears in PORTRAIT AND BIOGRAPHICAL ALBUM OF OAKLAND COUNTY MICHIGAN, Chapman Brothers Publisher, Chicago, 1891 His Bible records appearing in the Clark genealogy by Wilma Lull Scott were obtained from the L.D.S. library (microfilm #858 848).

Charles was brought up in Steuben County, New York. He moved to Michigan in 1835 and was a clerk for his brother-in-law, John Hankenson, in a drygoods store for two years. After a brief return to Cayaga County, NY in 1837, he returned to Oakland County, Michigan and settled to general farming. "

He was married to Anastasia CLARK on 11 Feb 1840 in Orion Twp, Oakland County, Michigan. ⁽³⁴⁹⁸⁾ Anastasia CLARK⁽³⁴⁹⁹⁾ was born on 20 Sep 1824 in Wayne County, Pennsylvania.⁽³⁵⁰⁰⁾ She died on 9 Mar 1906 in Pontiac, Michigan. ⁽³⁵⁰¹⁾ She was also known as "Tacy Ann". ⁽³⁵⁰²⁾ She was a daughter of Elijah Bailey and Mary Ann (Yerkes) Clark. Charles C. BOWLBY and Anastasia CLARK had the following children:
