Charles DAILEY ^{(771) (2553)(773) (774)(775)} was born on 11 Oct 1773 in Sussex County, New Jersey.⁽²⁵⁵⁴⁾ He died on 30 Mar 1864 in Franklin Township, Washington County, Salem, Indiana. ⁽¹³⁶⁴⁾ He was buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Washington County, Indiana.⁽²⁵⁵⁵⁾ Charles was in Rowan County 17 February 1817 when he gave bond with Edmund Palmer
(his grandfather) and James Briggs for 500 pounds when appointed guardian to John, his son by his first wife, Anna Skiles. Apparently, Charles left the area before 21 February 1820 when James Briggs was guardian of John Daily and filed his account.

He was married to Anna SKILES on 16 Oct 1797. ⁽²⁵⁵⁶⁾ Charles DAILEY and Anna SKILES had the following children:

1016 i. John DAILY^{(773) (774)(775)} was born about 1800 in Rowan Co., NC.⁽²⁵⁵⁷⁾ Mary Skiles left a small legacy to John (her grandson) in her will of 11 August 1815. He remained under guardianship in Rowan County until 1820. He purchased land in Washington County, Indiana on 5 September 1833.

On 16 November 1843 John gave land to the trustees of the Church of Christ at Franklin Meeting House which is now Bunker Hill Church.

John received land on 21 February 1844 from Marmaduke S. Coker and his wife, who was John's half-sister.

The 1850 Franklin Township, Washington County census gives us the last information concerning John's life. He was apparently a bachelor and taught school in a log house on "Old Labon Stewart Place." He was living with Joseph and Mary Lockenour and their children.

He was married to Sally ETCHISON on 12 Mar 1805 in Rowan Co., NC. Charles DAILEY and Sally ETCHISON had the following children:

He was married to Rebecca CRANK\CRONK about 1820. According to OUR BOWLBY KIN, the primary source of information on this branch of the family was James R. Daily of Schell City, Missouri, who shared his family records with June Barekman in 1980. However, much has been added and will continually be added as a
result of information being submitted to and discovered on web sites. Rebecca CRANK\CRONK^{(773) (774)(775)} was born on 18 Sep 1795 in Virginia.⁽²⁵⁵⁸⁾ Charles DAILEY and Rebecca CRANK\CRONK had the following children:
