Ingals may be Inglis, as Inglis was the first Baptist bishop in Nova
Scotia, and as most of these folks were fierce Baptists, you will find
many children named after this bishop. Rev. Spurgeon of England
regularily published tracts on the baptist religion which were widely
read in N. S. , and so the name Spurgeon became quite popular.
