He was reared on a farm and was engaged in agricultural operations
during the entire period of his active career. He was summoned to
eternal rest in 1893, at the venerable age of eighty-four years He was buried in the old Valley buring ground near Junction.⁽³²⁹⁰⁾

He was married to Sarah MELROY on 14 May 1833 in Musconetcong Valley Presbyterian. Church, New Jersey.⁽³²⁸⁵⁾⁽³²⁹¹⁾⁽³²⁹²⁾⁽³²⁹³⁾ The Reverend Isaac Candu or Candee conducted this marriage. Married by Rev. I. Candu Sarah MELROY⁽³²⁸⁵⁾⁽³²⁹⁴⁾⁽⁷⁾⁽⁸⁾ was born on 18 Jan 1815 in New Oxford Furnace, Warren County, New Jersey.⁽³²⁸⁵⁾⁽³²⁹⁵⁾⁽³²⁹⁶⁾ She died on 12 Dec 1883.⁽³²⁸⁵⁾⁽³²⁹⁷⁾⁽³²⁹⁸⁾ She was buried in Musconetcong Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, Hampton, New Jersey.⁽³²⁹⁹⁾ She was also known as "Sarah Milleroy".⁽³³⁰⁰⁾ John Cole, a soldier of the American Revolution born 28 Feb 1752, died
15 Sept 1842, married Margaret Vannest 16 Oct. 1783. Their daughter,
Eleanor Post Cole, b. 17 Nov 1792, died 28 July 1892, married Robert
